With more than 200 years of history as a hotel, brothel, civil war hospital and theater, there must be souls trapped within the walls and nooks and crannies backstage at the Bijou. It was renovated in 2005 and has been a thriving arts center ever since. The building was converted into a theater in 1909, but was in poor condition for most of the 20th century.
